Red Harvest

A treasury of dark horror and fantasy fiction.
Founded in the belief that darkness deserves beautiful prose.

We publish the stories
that haunt you

Red Harvest publishes complete works of horror and dark fantasy for readers who prefer dread with a human pulse. Every tale in the archive is chosen for its atmosphere, its voice, and the mark it leaves after the final line.

We love crumbling houses and impossible stars, but setting alone is never enough. The darkness must reveal a choice, a cost, or a truth the protagonist can no longer avoid. Horror becomes memorable when the monster changes the meaning of everything around it.

The archive welcomes Gothic, cosmic, occult, vampiric, folkloric, and dark fantastical traditions. What joins them is craft: precise language, purposeful endings, and respect for readers willing to follow a story all the way into the dark.

Horror is not a genre for cowards. It asks us to look directly at the things that undo us, and to keep looking until we understand their shape.

Our Principles

Craft First

We believe in story above all. Beautiful prose in service of genuine dread, not shock alone, but the slow, cold understanding of something terrible.

The Long Read

Short fiction is our currency. We publish stories of 3,000 to 15,000 words, long enough to breathe, short enough to read before sunrise.

All Darknesses

Gothic, cosmic, folkloric, or fantastical. We welcome every flavour of shadow. The only rule: it must be dark, and it must be true.

Open to All

Red Harvest publishes new and established voices alike. We read every submission with equal care. The darkness plays no favourites.

Meet the Editors

The people who read every word, and make it darker.

A.R. Blackwell

Editor in Chief

A.R. Blackwell founded Red Harvest to publish horror that values atmosphere, character, and consequence. They edit the Gothic archive and have a particular weakness for impossible houses.

Mira Darkholme

Senior Editor, Dark Fantasy

Mira Darkholme edits dark fantasy and vampiric fiction. Her work focuses on dangerous bargains, haunted landscapes, and monsters whose hungers reveal something human.

O. Ravenswood

Editor, Cosmic & Occult

O. Ravenswood curates cosmic, occult, and folk horror. A lifelong collector of regional legends, they believe the oldest stories remain frightening because they are still unfinished.
